Activites Ministry

This team ensures that various social activities are offered throughout the year for our congregation, their friends, and sometimes the community at large. Game nights, dances, picnics, and other events are planned on a monthly basis. Some are free, some are not. Sometimes refreshments are available for a nominal charge, sometimes they are free. The goal is to balance these activities so that they pay for each other. These are not fundraising events, just times for fun together. Sometimes the Activities Ministry pairs with the Fundraising Team to produce a major event to provide both a social outlet and to raise money for the church. Members need to enjoy planning events that will minister to others. It doesn’t matter how many people attend, rather the fact that they needed the outing, were able to make new friends, had an evening of laughter, or enjoyed a chem free activity is what is important.

FUN-R-US
Are you over 50 or do you have a disability?  If so, would you like to be a part of a group that enjoys a monthly outing to different places?  Sometimes there's a cost; sometimes there isn't.
We are considering reinstituting Fun-R-Us.  Ron Hampton and Doug Smith have volunteered to be the co-chairs and plan the events ... with input from others, of course!
If you qualify and are interested in this group, please sign up on the Church Board in the Auditorium.  Spouses or friends of members are always welcome to attend the events
CONTAINERS
Thank you for bringing in all the containers.  We do not need any more!!!  The Crafts Group made little banks from them for all of us to use to save our spare change to bring in on the last Sunday of the month.  If you haven't picked up a bank, there are still a few left on the counter in the Auditorium.

AIDS WALK
Sunday, 24 September
There is concern being expressed about the AIDS Walk this year since Southeast Christian has entered three teams ... including their staff team and their outreach team.  They also are actively engaged in  conducting ex-gay ministries and have just started a group for Lesbians to help them leave the gay lifestyle.
If you want to be a part of a team to represent MCCL, then please sign up on the Church Board in the Auditorium.
BIRTHDAY PARTY
Saturday, 30 September ~ 6 pm
Our Pastor is celebrating a BIG birthday this year ... and we want to make it a special day for her!!!  We're going to have a Spaghetti Dinner and Roast to honor her.  Donations for the dinner will be $6 - $60, as you can give, for all of the money will go to the AC Fund.  This will be your gift to her.  No other gifts, please.  After dinner we'll have a time of sharing our favorite stories about our beloved Rev. Dee!!!
Mark the date on your calendar NOW!!!
In case you are wondering which birthday it is, there's a hint in the price of the dinner!!!  ;-)
BIRTHDAY BASH
Saturday, 30 September
If you haven't already signed up ...  please sign the list on the Church Board in the Auditorium on Sunday ... or call the church office 587-MCCL (6225) ... to make your reservation.  We need to know how many people are coming in order to prepare the food.
We need volunteers to help clean up after dinner.  We want Doris Harris and her wonderful Hospitality Team to be able to participate in the Roast of Rev. Dee.  Can you help get the pots and pans washed and the tables wiped down so that everyone can enjoy the fun???  Sign up on the Church Board.
