Highland Community Ministry
This Twenty-six churches have joined together to do ministry in the Highlands. By uniting, instead of each church doing its own thing, we are able to provide quality services to families, seniors, children, and folks who need assistance with food, clothing, utilities, and other basic needs.
MCCL collects toiletries (Bring them back from the hotels on your next trip!) and canned goods on a regular basis. Just put them in the HCM drum in the Auditorium. We also provide school supplies and clothing for children before the beginning of the school year, adopt families for Christmas, and participate in other HCM projects.
The HCM churches gather several times a year for a combined worship service and dinner, a daytime Good Friday service, and various educational seminars.
Highland Community Ministries is located at:

We always say to bring non-perishable foods, canned goods, toiletries, paper products on the last Sunday of the month, but the need to help individuals and families is on the increase. You can bring your donations ANY time. Linda Gregory empties the barrel outside Rev. Dee's office every Sunday to take the items to HCM for use by the Individual and Family Assistance Program. The next time you are at the store, why not pick up an extra item or two to share with someone in need? Don't forget to bring back those soaps, shampoos, etc., in your hotel room from your next trip!
Drivers are needed for Meals on Wheels, delivering meals to homebound persons. Can you give an hour or so a week to do this? If so, call Donna at 584-3834.

Kroger Cards Lynn Humphrey, Program Director
Buy a Kroger gift card from HCM and 5% of the amount you charge will come to the Individual & Family Assistance Program (IFAP)
Here’s how to support the HCM ministry:
1. Get a Kroger gift card from our HCM Board Representative, Linda Gregory for $5
2. At the Kroger customer service desk or in the checkout line before you begin the purchase of goods, ask to charge your gift card. Put any amount you want on the card.
3. Then use your gift card to pay for the items. The receipt will say how much you have spent and the balance on your card. (You can continue to use your Kroger card for discounts.)
4. It is easy to use and Kroger will send IFAP a check for 5% of what is put on the HCM gift cards.
5. You may use your gift card at the pharmacy.
HIGHLAND COMMUNITY MINISTRIES
We are one of 26 churches that comprise Highland Community Ministries, better known as HCM. All of the churches in the Highlands work together to provide ministry to the people in our neighborhood, from infants to the elderly.
With school out for the summer, some families are having to provide breakfast and lunch, that normally their children receive free at school, so grocery budgets are stretched thin. The next time you are at the store, pick up something extra for people who aren't as blessed as you are. Items need to be non-perishable, packaged or in cans. Although we focus on bringing food on the first Sunday of the month, you can bring items ANY time and Linda Gregory will take them to the Individual and Family Assistance Program of HCM.
Toiletries are also greatly appreciated ... these can be from the hotel on your vacation or ones you pick up at the store. It's hard to go job hunting if you haven't been able to brush your teeth or shave!
HCM is already preparing for school by collecting supplies to give the children and youth. Because we did such an outstanding job last year, our church has again been assigned spiral notebooks! At the moment Wal-Mart has them on sale for 10 cents apiece!!! So, the next time you're at the store, grab a few and bring them to church!!!
All HCM items are placed in the barrel outside Rev. Dee's office in the Auditorium.
