USHERS are vital in welcoming new people and in assisting in worship. These folks may be the first ones to greet a first-time visitor or to welcome other new people. Besides lighting the Christ candles and assisting with offering and Communion, ushers also provide unseen services like counting the number of persons present, gathering the sheets from the friendship pads after worship, opening and closing the front doors, and picking up items left behind on the pews. Yes, ushers are trained and have a checklist to remind them of their duties each Sunday morning or at another service. We always need more men and women for this ministry team.
